Bungites

Big weekend in school this weekend as we welcome new families into Bungites for Open Day. It has been great to see the Common Room get some TLC and I thoroughly enjoyed cleaning the Oil paining of Henry 'Bung' Holden on Wednesday evening.

Academic

With Parents' evenings now uponus may I remind you that tutors are available should you need them to follow anything up here in school. The boys are now settled into school, and understand the expectations we have of them so there can be no excuses for underperformance!

Sport

Last Saturday, our senior rowers competed at Tees Head in windy conditions and against some tough opposition but delivered some outstanding performances. There was an excellent result from the boys J18 quad with Jonny Masterman, Toni Gotze, Matthew Wilson and Luca Regan-Teasdale finishing as the third fastest boat in the LDS. Following closely behind was the j18 quad of Ethan Johnson, William Chaytor, Alexander Purves Liddelle and Jason Wrack who secured 5th overall. Well done to all the rowers for their hard work and resilience in tough conditions. The boat club are back in action this weekend and we wish them well.

Away from the water, Kenneth P (Year 10) continue to train with Durham University Fencing team which is a fantastic experience given his age.

Congratulations to the 1st XV who retained the Noel Shearing Cup last weekend down at Ampleforth College. Though the boys were not at their best, they had enough in their locker to defeat a spirited Ampleforth XV. The senior squad head up to Merchistan Castle this weekend and we wish them well.
